Paris Hilton's special treatment in jail under investigation

Allegations that Paris Hilton received special treatment during her 23 day incarceration for violating her parole in a DUI case have been brought to the attention of The Sheriff's Department, by the department's union, and are being investigated.

According to sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore, it has been alleged that Hilton was given free access to a cordless phone so she did not have to wait in line for the payphone like other inmates, she was given a new jail uniform instead of a recycled one given to many inmates and her mail was delivered by a captain instead of inmate trusties.

Whitmore clarified that the allegations are at variance with the department's own information about the incarceration.

"We're going to investigate it and get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what happened," he said.
