Hugh Grant's popped the question to Jemima Khan, say pals

After spending years as a carefree bachelor, Hugh Grant has reportedly popped the question to Jemima Khan.

The couple, who broke up earlier this year, has been insisting that they are not back together, but friends state otherwise, even revealing that Grant has proposed to Jemima.

This time however, it’s Jemima who is the unsure party, especially as she already has one failed marriage to cricketer Imran Khan in her past, and also because mum Lady Annabel Goldsmith insists that she shouldn’t rush into anything.

"Jemima is saying they are just friends and that it was a coincidence they met in Paris, but all the signs are pointing to the relationship being on again," the Daily Mail quoted a pal, as saying.

"They have always had a complex relationship and it's true that Jemima still sees her first husband, Imran but that's because they have children. It's different with Hugh.

"There could have been a clean break but he has begged Jemima for another chance.

"He has proposed but Jemima isn't sure whether she wants to enter another marriage," the pal said.
The friend added that the couple had started seeing each other once again in April, with the understanding that they would tie the knot if they could make their relationship work.

"They started seeing each other again in April. It was on the understanding that they would give it a proper shot and that if they could make it work, they would marry," the pal said.

"Hugh has proposed. But one of the reasons they have not made the announcement is because Jemima's mother, Lady Annabel, has told her daughter not to rush into anything.

"She has seen Jemima go through one divorce and doesn't want her to go through another one," the pal added.

The friend also added that Grant has banned his lady love from saying anything to family and friends, till they are ready to make an official announcement.

"Hugh has instructed Jemima not to say anything until they make an official announcement.
Jemima knows she needs to be 100 per cent certain that this is the right thing for her, which is why they have been so cagey about going public," the pal said.
