Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony may take a page out of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw's playbook and embark on a joint tour.
"We're seriously talking about going out this year [and] putting together an amazing show with just her and myself," Anthony told Billboard.
Though Lopez has released six studio albums, she has yet to hit the road for a full-scale tour in support of any of them. Anthony, on the other hand, is a veteran of many tours and is only too willing to show his wife the ropes.
"Jennifer has never toured," Anthony said. "I've toured all my life. This is where I can step in and say, 'Oh, my God, this could be fun,' and introduce her to that world."
It wouldn't be the first time the couple's personal and professional lives have intersected. Lopez and Anthony have contributed vocals to each other's albums in the past, performed a duet at the 2005 Grammys and are costarring in the upcoming biopic El Cantante, opening Aug. 3.
Anthony said his multihyphenate missus has been too busy with various projects to tour until now. "It is something she's always wanted to do, but she has never had the time," he said.
As for the key to maintaining a successful marriage, the Latin crooner said his relationship with Lopez centers on their ability to recognize each other's strengths and weaknesses.
"She picks me up where I'm weak, and I elevate her where she's weak. That's where
the true partnership comes in," he said.
Anthony's next album, the soundtrack to El Cantante, in which he portrays salsa legend Hector Lavoe, will be released Tuesday. Lopez's upcoming album is due out in September.
