Victoria Beckham crowned Britain's Woman of the Year

Former ‘Spice Girl’ Victoria Beckham was crowned Britain’s First Lady at the Glamour Women Of The Year awards in London on Tuesday night.

The wife of ace footballer and former England captain, David Beckham, was conferred two gongs at the ceremony— Entrepreneur Of The Year Award for her business work and the night’s Woman Of The Year Award.

She was dressed cap-a-pie in Chanel outfit designed by Karl Lagerfeld, and made a royal entrance to the bash in tiny sequined black hotpants, a revealing bustier, and matching gloves.

Victoria said that she was unconcerned by the ongoing rumblings about her suitability if footballer husband David was knighted.

“Who cares if I’m not posh enough. All I care about is that Karl Lagerfeld said I’m cool — and he’s the man,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

It was in recognition of Victoria’s role in establishing Brand Beckham in the US ahead her husband’s move to football team LA Galaxy that she was rewarded. She has also seen her fashion and perfume range fly off shelves, and her second book ‘That Extra Half An Inch’ was a best-seller.

“In my years as a Spice Girl I won loads of awards but I haven’t had many since,” she said while accepting the Entrepreneur gong.

She also thanked her husband and said, “Sorry David couldn’t be here but he’s playing for England.”
