'No-One Should Profit In Jail' Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton has been banned from giving television interviews while in jail, a sheriff has ordered.

And authorities will take "aggressive" steps to prevent cameras from being smuggled into the prison in Lynwood, about five miles south of Los Angeles.

The socialite will begin her 45-day sentence for breaking the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case on Tuesday.

However, she is likely to have to serve only around 23 days because state rules allow shorter sentences for good behaviour.

Deputies and jail employees have been told to treat the 26-year-old heiress like any other inmate, Sheriff Lee Baca told the Los Angeles Times.

"Paying a debt to society should not be an element of her celebrity," Baca said. "Her occupation is publicity, but no one should profit in jail."
