"I don't know about that. We're just hanging, having a good time, dating around. It's good," he told OK! at the Reebok Springs Into Style event in NYC October 24 when asked if they were officially a couple.
As to how he hooked up with Carrie despite their diverse showbiz backgrounds, Chace said, "Through friends of friends."
"I love country music and she's very classy," he added
Carrie, 24, was spotted kissing Chace, 22, Friday, October 12 at NYC club Marquee sparking rumors of a new celebrity romance.
The next evening, the pair enjoyed a romantic dinner at Mario Batali's Del Posto restaurant and later a few drinks at Soho Grand.
Carrie, who won the fourth season of American Idol, has been linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo since late last year. However, late in May The National Enquirer reported that Romo had called a "timeout" on the relationship until the end of football season.
Carrie has steadfastly maintained that she and Tony were friends.
