Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to co-produce HBO series

The series will focus on what it takes aide agencies to provide succor to the hungry and maimed in ravaged and strife torn parts of the world. Angelina Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for UNHCR, understands the subject and Brad Pitt understands production.

The project is close to their hearts and sounds like a perfect fit for their skill sets. Significantly, it will also impart a professional dimension to their partnership in life.

Scott Burns, a co-writer for The Bourne Ultimatum and co-producer for Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth will script the drama series that will chronicle the lives of aid workers who put themselves in danger to assist others.
Burns will also be the executive co-producer along with Jolie and Pitt.

Jolie, played a lead role in Beyond Borders (2003), a film that dealt with the relief effort in war-torn Africa.

She worked with HBO 10 years ago in the cable network's biopic Gia, which earned her a Golden Globe win, a SAG Award and an Emmy nomination.

Brad Pitt is executive producer for HBO/National Geographic miniseries Undaunted Courage.
Jolie's is currently filming for The Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood in Los Angeles.
Brad's next film State of Play, directed by Kevin Macdonald, is set to roll on locations in Los Angeles in November.
