Will Smith and Tom Cruise at 'I am Legend' Premiere in NY

Will Smith with wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, son Jaden Smith and pal Tom Cruise was at the premiere of his new film, 'I am Legend' at a packed Wamu Theater, Madison Square Garden, Manhattan NY, Tuesday night, December 11.

On Monday, December 10, Tom Cruise, 45, had watched Will, 39, imprint his hand and feet in the forecourt of Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theater.

The bonhomie and warmth between the two friends was evident on the occasion by the way they cheered each other and the manner in which Tom Cruise mingled with Will's family.

When People magazine asked Will what Cruise had told him on the occasion Smith responded. "That's top secret. No, I'm kidding. He said, 'We've got to make a movie together!' "

In the movie Smith plays scientist, the sole survivor of a virus that wipes out New York City, who is seeking a cure to reverse the plague. Will's daughter Willow, 7, makes her film debut in Legend as his child. His son Jaden, 9, played Smith's kid in The Pursuit of Happyness (2006).

The film opens in theaters on Dec 14. The film is not yet being approved in China.
