"I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer," their rep Brad Cafarelli told People magazine.
Alba, 26, and director's assistant Cash Warren met on the sets of The Fantastic Four in 2004 and have dated since then.
In July a source told Us magazine that the couple had split. However, the two attended a Lakers game Sunday and were spotted kissing each other.
Jessica recently said she was planning to take eight months off work, but didn't specify why.
She said: "I've worked the last two and a half years without stopping. This is the time to do it."
Alba was voted the Most Desirable Women by readers of Askmen.com in 2006. She was placed No 2 by Maxim Magazine in their Top 100 list in 2007.
Warren, 28, was named the "Luckiest Bastard" of 2007 at Spike TV's first annual Guy's Choice Awards for dating Alba.
