While Funk denies having bedded the troubled pop-star she is forthcoming about her feelings towards Britney.
"I love that girl," she told OK! "I will do what I can to protect her."
Witness have confirmed to OK!, a story earlier carried by The Sun, that after frolicking with a topless Britney on the rooftop pool of a hotel last month, Mike Encinias, an extras on the sets of Britney's new single video shoot, did not leave but went to Britney's room.
"That boy who claims he went back to hang out with Britney and hook up with her? No, that's not what happened," a close friend of Spears says. "Instead of hooking up with him, [Funk] ended up back in Brit's room and bed."
Encinias who claims that he was hand picked by Britney's assistant for a make out session with Britney admits he went to Britney’s room but denies having sex with her.
Some of those who have seen Britney and Funk together are not ready to take Funk's denial of an amorous relationship with Britney at its face value.
"They seemed really in touch with each other, like they knew what each other wanted," a stylist who recently worked with the singer told OK!
Funk, worked with Britney for just three weeks, before being fired July 25 shortly after Britney's disastrous shoot with OK! Magazine.
She was located and subpoenaed by Kevin Federline lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan yesterday while she was with the OK! senior reporter Shauna Bass and photo director Maria Collazo for what is believed was a tell all session.
Her testimony could prove damaging to Britney in her legal battle with her former husband, Federline, who is seeking full custody of their children.
