Angelina Jolie wins praise from 'Wanted' co-star Common

Rapper Common, who plays Gunsmith in Wanted says his co-star "Angelina Jolie is one of the coolest people I've ever met."

The 35-year-old rapper, who is at the top of the Billboard albums chart for the first time in his 15-year career, is upbeat about the film and his role in it.

An unabashed pacifist Common, whose real name is Lonnie Rashid Lynn, is unfazed by the fact that he plays a character who is all about guns

"In movies, I'm always playing gun-totin' dudes!" he told MTV news alluding to the fact that being over six feet tall he fits the mold of a Hollywood hitman perfectly

Russian director Timur Bekmambetov's first Hollywood film features Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy in the lead. It is the story of a young man (McAvoy) who discovers that his long lost father works as an assassin for an organization. Later, the father is murdered and the organization recruits the son, who is trained by a deadly man named Sloan (Freeman), as a replacement assassin. Assisting Sloan are the lethal Gunsmith and the sexy Fox (Jolie).

"It's a really good story - I think the story's got substance to it, but it's still got great action," Common says. "It's gonna be something new, man."

"The way this is shot is different," he insisted. "Timur is from Russia. His whole way of shooting is a different approach ... some action movies are just good action, but this has a great story to it. It's got substance to it. Morgan Freeman is in it - that's one of the legendary people in acting. It just has these elements that are gonna make it special."

Common has his own take on Jolie and it is unlike anything projected by the tabloids
"Angelina was the best - I've gotta tell you," he says. "She was, like, one of the coolest people I've ever met. I felt like the way she was encouraging me was just really warm and cool, and she brought the family around. I got to meet Brad - everybody was cool, just down-to-earth people there.

"It's good to meet somebody who's such a big superstar who's just so cool," he added, "and really there for a cause."
