Bride to be Katharine McPhee sings at FedEx Orange Bowl

Katharine McPhee gave her own special rendition of the National Anthem to help kick off the 2008 FedEx Orange Bowl football game between Kansas University and Virginia Tech, at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida., Thursday, January 3.


Katharine wore a stylish dark blue gathered cuff sleeves, empire waist jersey top with a tie neck and light blue jeans. She looked enchanting with long shining curled hair, subtle makeup and ethnic yellow gold chandelier earrings.

Star magazine reports that the 23-year-old American Idol Season 5 runner up and fiancé, actor Nick Cokas, 42 have settled on a marriage date.

"They're getting married in Los Angeles in February," the insider tells Star. "They've sent out pre-invites asking their friends to 'save the date,' and the actual invitations with all the information will be coming soon."

McPhee and Cokas became acquainted while working together in 2005 on a theater production in L.A. McPhee was persuaded to give American Idol a shot by Cokas and her parents.

She was voted No 2 on FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in The World 2007, People magazine declared her one of the "100 Most Beautiful People of 2007" and she was listed amidst Maxim's "Hot 100 Women of 2007" list. It is easy to see why.

She will make her studio acting debut as a pregnant hippie in a comedy titled I Know What Boys Like directed by Fred Wolf.

The film stars Anna Faris and additionally features Rumer Willis, Emma Stone and Colin Hanks.
