Johnny Depp to step into Heath Ledger's last role?

Johnny Depp may step in for tragic Heath Ledger in what has turned out to be the late actor’s last film.

Oscar nominee Ledger was just six weeks from finishing fantasy movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when he died while on a break.

According to a studio source, director Terry Gilliam now wants friend Johnny Depp to step into the role.

"There is a point in the film when Heath falls through a magic mirror," The Sun quoted the source, as saying.

“He could change into another character after that and that is where Johnny would come in.
“It’s a weird, fantasy, time-travel movie so Heath’s character could easily change appearance. It would be a poignant moment.

“Johnny’s not working at the moment so everyone is praying he will do it.”

Heath Ledger's death leaves ex Michelle Williams 'devastated'

Heath Ledger’s former partner and the mother of his only child, actress Michelle Williams is said to be ‘devastated’ by the news of the star’s death.

The couple met on the sets of their movie Brokeback Mountain in 2005 and soon welcomed their daughter Matilda into the world.

A source close to Williams, who was on location in Sweden when she got the news, said that she was in a state of shock.

"She's devastated," People quoted the source, as saying.

Although their relationship ended, the couple agreed to put their 2-year old daughter first.
Another source added: "He was absolutely in love with his daughter. And he really liked what he did [acting]. He spoiled [Matilda] rotten. He was playful and very funny with her."

Ledger himself spoke about how fatherhood had changed his life, stating in an earlier interview: “Fatherhood has changed me as an artist because I feel things on a deeper level. I think my performances will grow simultaneously."

Supermodel Helena Christensen has rubbished reports that she and actor Heath Ledger are dating - branding the claims as "annoying".

Christensen, 38, says she is tired of being constantly linked with actors.

"It is so annoying. I can't even tell you," People magazine quoted her, as saying.

It was earlier reported that the Danish beauty was seeing Ledger, after they were spotted together at various events.

Helena was also furious with the tabloids for making it seem that she had been dating Josh Hartnett, and that the two were now speaking ill about each other.

"The funny thing is that they write, 'Just out of a relationship with Josh Hartnett and now with Heath'. Josh is one of my dearest friends. ... And in several different tabloids they wrote that we were biting each other's faces off or something like that," she said.
